EXPERIENCE the trails of the Canadian Rockies with me, Jessica Stichelbout. I am a Level 4 certified nordic ski instructor with the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI) and a Level 1 certified downhill ski instructor with the Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance (CSIA). I have been certifying instructors, teaching lessons, and guiding for a decade in the Rocky Mountain National Parks/Bow Valley area. I LOVE to share my passion for cross-country skiing!

Nordic Lessons and Guided Tours

My classic or skating lessons and guided tours can be tailored to the beginner skier who is still learning or the advanced skier/racer seeking advice on their technique. Come join me for a lesson or a guided tour into the winter wonderlands of Lake Louise and Yoho National Park.

Private Lessons for Classic and Skate Techniques*

What’s Included:

Each lesson is tailored to my client, we will cover all the basic, intermediate or advance techniques, whether you are looking for efficiency or learning how to stop on flat or hilly terrain. You will feel confident and excited for your next Nordic ski outing!

$100 for 1.5 hours + $20 per additional person per session

Lessons offered Thursday to Monday between 9:30am-14:30pm

Guided Tours of 2 to 4 Hours*

What’s Included:

These guided tours include an hour lesson, or a review of technique, followed by a guided outing where you can apply your new skills to the trails. All guided tours can be tailored to the skier’s skill level.

Hot beverage, homemade treats and maps will be provided for all guided tours.

1-4 People = $250

5-10 People = $300

Guided tours offered Thursday to Monday – 9:00am-13:00pm or 12:30pm-16:30pm

*Transportation, ski rentals and meals are not included. Prices include taxes but a 2.5% charge will apply if fees are paid with a credit card.

Nordic Gear Rental is Available At:

Emerald Sports & Gifts, Wilson Mountain Sports and Chateau Mountain Sports in Lake Louise or at the Canmore Nordic Center. Visit field.ca for more information about the area.

Recommended Gear:

  • Multi layer, active wear clothing. Downhill clothing will do but tends to be quite warm on average temperature days.
  • A back pack to put layers in.
  • Water bottle and snacks.
  • Sunglasses/sunscreen/tissues
  • Disposable hand and toe warmers (available in every sports shop).

Credit card information is required to make a reservation. Payment options can be discussed at the time of booking. Payment is accepted on the day of the lesson/guided tour.

Private lessons and tours cancelled less than 48 hours prior to scheduled time will forfeit any refund.

COVID-19 Protocols

Guests will be required to sign a declaration of health and exposure attesting to good health, not having been exposed to anyone who is sick, and that they are following provincial travel recommendations. It is recommended that guests carry a face covering and hand sanitizer.
